I love my life. It's weird, but it's real.
Wieder hinter mir Schatten, Geräusche, mein Blick schwengt herum.
I love my life. It's weird, but it's mine.
I love it, because moments like this have a meaning.

Hehe.
Finally, a new post about more or less up-to-date stuff from my ever-chaotic life.
Of course a million things happened lately, many of them quite crazy, so nothing unusual. This time I want to look at the good ones, those that surprised me. Sometimes because of the "when", sometimes of their "how", and other times ... well, who would have thought?
First and foremost I wouldn't have thought that Bhava and me, the founders of the famous frisbee team CRANBERRY SNACK, would ever get to play with this team together, but we did! And not just any tournament, but the fantastic Windmill Windup (in Amsterdam)! Of course it was just as much fun as we imagined it to be when creating such a fabulous team: we had international players, talented ones, good looking, and... the Bikini of Blame.
Oh, and while we're at it, I'd like to mention ... well, how do I say this? Talking about emotions is always difficult, and especially in this case because I haven't put a friendship like this in words before... I've only seen Bhava twice in the last 3 years and still feel so close to her! How comes we're such different personalities but seem so equal in what we experience? Call it soulmates, coincidence, female intuition, in the end it comes down to a fantastic friendship, which makes me so purely happy that I can't believe it. It's like we've married minds! Sometimes I just want to jump on a plane, forget my dignity and enter America, just to hang out with Bhava! Well, who knows what the future will hold, maybe we'll see each other somewhere surprising. Like Mexico. Just a thought.
And, another friendship that has developed recently, is with beer. Yes, no mistake here, I'm talking about a drink: beer and I became friends! It happened in Stuttgart, saturday night, at the beer race, after the frisbee games. I was forced to join, and even failed when I slipped on the wet gras and tipped over the bench with the beer, but hey! Strange situations make strange friendships, and I never get a hangover after a night out with beer... So, goodbye longdrinks and cocktails, hallo boring and practical beer.
Now on to some surprising skills I've discovered: I can cut hair. Not so much my own, but Jonas' hair for example. He's got short hair and small expectations, but still: we were both happy with the result. So, anyone else want to save some money and try something new? I'm there, for you, and your hair.
Plus, while writing my diploma during the summer, I needed some distraction and starting making jam. Coolio! It's even less difficult than haircutting, and I've cooked different varieties for about 10 jars already.
Last but not least, university still surprises me (no, it isn't over yet), as an institution: today I got some books from the library by filling out forms, you know, they didn't scan the books, they have it on paper. And I thought I was old-fashioned by not having a smart phone! Also I had pizza with one of my professors at a summer party, he just happened to walk by and my friend told him to join our food session. Let's hope my prof will still remember that gift in october, when he's testing me for my oral diploma exam... The preparation for all of the oral exams goes quite well. I'm surprised that the one topic I'd randomly chosen is actually something I'm really interested in: reflexive science and research. Coolio.

* Substantive und Fremdwörter erlaubt
* Übertreibungen und Provokation sind Absicht (zur Veranschaulichung)
* meine zugrunde liegende Prämisse ist die der Studentin im Urlaub, also viel Zeit, Kaffee und Wahnsinn
* anders als bei Kant kann man mich fragen, was ich damit genau gemeint hab.
Was heißt "eins davon"?

Wir sollten uns in Frau Rauscher & The Underrated umbenennen...

500 days of summer
I'm dreaming about 500 days of summer...
my heart isn't meant to rest
I need to feel it beating
set my mind on a quest
a whirlwind of feelings
sometimes I'm acting strange
hopelessly romantic at best
when the nightly rain rushes
I sit outside chasing my dreams
saving reality's blushes
doesn't matter what it means
in between singing and cheating
hoping and breathing
sharply-blurred imagination
is the only truth I believe in
my heart isn't meant to rest
I need to feel it beating
set my mind on a quest
a whirlwind of feelings
sometimes I'm acting strange
hopelessly romantic at best
when the nightly rain rushes
I sit outside chasing my dreams
saving reality's blushes
doesn't matter what it means
in between singing and cheating

Weltretter - wer is(s)t leidenschaftlich?
Ich bin eine von den Guten! Habt ihr schon immer gewusst, wa!?
Ihr wollt werden wie ich? Kein Problem! Guckst du:
http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/beitrag/video/1648450/Bambule-vom-24.-Mai-2012
Diese Sendung bestätigt genau zwei Tatsachen:

get up, racing, chasing
waaaaaa-wa-king up is so hard after 8 am... I feel better being woken up before that, call me crazy. So today was difficult, I feel totally paralized, no power. I have to get my secret weapon: a combination of coffee and music, then dance into my clothes (what shall I wear??) and around the apartment with a wiper in my hand...
the plan sounds good, I just need to get away from the internet. what sense does it make to sit in front of the computer, with a healthy bowl of breakfast, watching rocket launches? at 10am?? I'm soooo inconsistent, and: I still eat fish. at least, if I never become who I'll try to be, then I'll always be busy, which is good. keeps me away from the internet. this bad bad thing!
I shall smash it!
and then I'd take Joe my bike and cruise to a library, then to another one, keep writing, no cash no style...
when I started this post I felt totally poetic, now I only feel po... Did I sleep too long? At least I had cool crazy dreams as usual: starring a legless man who was the new boyfriend of a friend of mine and some frisbee players, that I don't know in real life, coming to a party for me which had to be cancelled, cause the wires-and-post-construction, where we wanted to climb at, broke down. Yes, that goes to the "normal dream" category.
And at the end of the day, there is only ultimate frisbee, a passion that stuck with me like a ohrwurm. We've set high goals for this season, women and mixed, trying to get into frist league again. It'll be difficult cause we've got so many beginners... But the tournament in Bruges showed that there's lots of talent combined with lots of motivation, makes me impatient to play! Personally, I need to work on my throws and become even faster, better in shape.
And the best news so far? Guess who'll be playing with me and fabulous Cranberry Snack in Windmill (Amsterdam) this year?? Yes, Bhava, my best friend from America! I am so happy, I'll throw another party when she'll arrive!
Until that I gotta be getting up, racing, chasing!

time
Time is short, already half of it for my diploma thesis is gone! Right now I should be sitting in the liberary and write write write. If only it all hadn't to be correct and as objective as possible, I would have more creative freedom...
Time is long! Indeed, time can be a very subjective thing, though everyone might agree that 7 years is a huge amount of hours, even days! What if you don't see someone that long, someone you had a close relationship with, and then suddenly meet again?
I had about 24 hours thinking about that question. It didn't stay alone for long, other questions came up, such as: how will he have changed, and how have I in his opinion? Many many thoughts were on my mind. Indeed, such a reunion is a great chance to learn a lot about yourself in particular, and about relationships in general...
So when I finally saw an old friend again after 7 years (he lives in Canada, that's why our roads hadn't crossed earlier), first of all, I couldn't believe it. Neither could he. It was just too crazy! It turns out that he hadn't changed so much, neither had I, instead we both had grown (up). I was sooo curious about his impression of my character, because -apart from being obsessed with characters in change- I rarely get the chance to hear someone's opinion who can easily compare what should be two different lifes in one person. Also I was sooo curious about all the action I had missed in his life, and there was a lot going on. It might have been the best part of our reunion to see that we both have been living our lives to as we wanted: he had accomplished such amazing projects (skateboarding and paragliding over Canada) and I had found ultimate frisbee!
It's hard to describe what it's like being in a such sitution as we were, maybe meeting an old relative comes close. It's very good to know that you can base friendships on old realtionships, like opening a can after some time has passed by, enjoying some conserved memories and still finding enough passions in common.
Now, and yet again, it's time to change some things about me, such as becoming more patient, especially with friendships and other relationships. Or to become more self-confident, and less self-defensive. What will probably not change soon is my imbalance of provoking and harmonizing with others. I'll often be getting into someone's face, sometimes intentionally, sometimes not, and I'll probably feel sorry about it. I need to keep some part of my personality, right!?
I wouldn't mind if it takes another life until I am who I want to be, I still have time. Yesterday I thought of how we change while growing up, and I thought of the following thesis: we spent so much time in our young years with making mistakes, and so much time in our adulthood avoiding them. This makes it both exhausting and boring! Of course we need to take on responsibility, but we should not be too afraid to keep exploring and redefine our rights and wrongs.
Hope the song doesn't sound too sad, I just think it's wonderful! Love hearing it on my bicycle...
I need to keep some part of my personality, right!?

nothing stranger than life
Why do we make it so complicated? Our desire to make things easy and to regulate everything as we want it, makes life so difficult. We set up standards that we can't maintain and we make rules that we don't follow. Argh, I just wanna throw my life away and become... a musician! Easy to say after a glass (or bottle?) of red wine, being 25 (or...?) and on the edge of change. What makes me stay up late, thinking, wondering, philosophing about the important questions of life? Really, the simple questions come to you at daylight times, such as: "will I be quicker cycling with flatulence?" But only when the world seems to be asleep, my mind wakes up.
alright, at this point, please grab a drink and then continue reading. It won't get any better.
(This is not about trivializing alcohol. It's about not taking myself too seriously.)
The greatest thought you can ever have -as a never really grown up, insecure, natural being- is that you're very very normal. I always thought noone could have the same problems, feelings and such as I do. I thought I need to write a blog and let people know about this strange world that is my reality. But the truth, and this is the very true thruth, is that I'm not alone. My real problem was my inability to accept that I'm one of a billion, not worth more or less than anyone else. I always wanted to be special, and I am, no doubt, but in a totally different way than I expected. I am not different in colour, soul or dreams, but in my decisions. I know some of them are fake ones, like deciding between the products of a supermarket, since someone decided for me what to choose frome. But some choice, even just having them, means freedom to me. And nowadays (I know this sounds totally 80s!), in the world of globalisation and capitalism, freedom is the last difference we have.

kein kommentar - no comment
In diesem Sinne, heute mal kurzer Prozess:
If you don't have anything to say, rather be quiet, and let others speak. Having said that, I'll cut it short today:
...abgesehen davon schreibe ich in letzter Zeit wirklich genug! Ein Drittel ist geschafft!
...besides, I've been writing a lot recently! A third is done!
